The cost of registering for the Annual Meeting depends on your membership or career status. If you are unsure of your current membership status, please contact the SSR Membership Department. ** Please note if you renewed or joined the SSR on or after 3/1/2020 you will not be eligible for discounts**

Everyone entering the 2020 SSR meeting space must be registered for the Meeting and wear a 2020 meeting badge; there will be NO exceptions.

Registration fees cover:

  • Attendance at all scientific sessions.
  • Attendance at the Opening Reception (Guest are additional cost)
  • Attendance at the Trainee Forum (Trainees only, attendees must indicate attendance on the registration form to receive refreshments).
  • Attendance at the Closing Ceremonies (Guest are additional cost)
  • Breakfast and afternoon beverage breaks, Friday – Sunday.

53rd Annual Program Books:
We Are Going Green!  This year, the SSR will not be providing program books at the Annual Meeting.  The program book will be available to download online.  Program books are available to purchase for $20.00 when you register.  Program books must be ordered by March 9th.  Program books will not be available to purchase at the meeting.


Optional Events/Items:

Meeting participants may register for a variety of educational and special events in addition to the scientific program. 

  • Ovarian Workshop: Developmental Origins of Ovarian Diseases ($125 Regular Members, $75 Trainees, $200 Nonmembers)
    • The purpose of the workshop is to bring together experts in the area of ovarian biology and engage SSR attendees in various topics that will range from germline development to clinical translational research in ovarian dysfunction.

  • Agricultural Applications Symposia: Novel Reproductive Biology Investigations in Domestic Livestock ($125 Regular Members, $75 Trainees, $200 Nonmembers)
    • Focusing on basic and clinically applied translational studies using domestic livestock, this symposium will include talks on innovative methods, a poster session for individuals conducting research in this area, and the opportunity to interact with those working in the agriculture industry.
  • Trainee Mixer (Trainee Only Event)

  • Trainee Forum (Trainee Only Event)

  • Trainee Grant Workshop
    • This session will explore NIH funding mechanisms in support of the typical post-doc to faculty pathway, as well as other types of post-post-doc career trajectories, and how NIH support can factor in.

  • Progressive Luncheon with Industry (Trainee Event Only)
    • Meet with industry representatives and learn more about what skills they are looking for in this unique setting. Trainees will join one industry representatives for each course in a 3-course meal. By the end of this lunch, each attendee will have met with 3 industry representatives. Sign up for this free event before the spots are filled.

  • WinRS Breakfast/Subcommittee Meeting
    • This year for the WinRS Breakfast Symposium at SSR in Ottawa we are going to have a power hour event, where there will be small groups with a discussion leader, to discuss different issues facing women in reproductive sciences specifically, and potential strategies to overcome these issues. Some of our topics will include balancing personal life and career aspirations and overcoming unconscious bias.     • Shanghai ONE Fine Dining

  • 3-Course French Cuisine
    • 5-star fine dining at the Signatures Restaurant (Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa) with Executive Chef Yannick Anton; appetizer, main course and dessert

  • Italian Mixed Grill Experience
    • Experience the 60s and 70s at La Favorita Favorita Restorant; featuring chicken, beef tenderloin, braised lamb and Italian sausage, includes appetizer, dessert, coffee & tea.

  • Dinner with Local Beer Tasting
    • Casual Dining at Sen's House (Home of the Ottawa Senators) at the By Ward Market; featuring main course, dessert, coffee plus local beer tasting

  • Vegan Dinner
    • Enjoy an evening at Pure Kitchen on Elgin Street (vegetarian food and juice bar) 20 - 30 min walk from the Shaw Centre; Table D’Hote with appertizer, main course, desert and tea/coffee

  • Japanese Cuisine & Ottawa River Cruise
    • 3 hours cruise on the Ottawa River, DJ for dancing
    • Japanese Bento dinner box (including teriyaki chicken; karage, beef or Saba) + soft drink (tax & tips included) (first seating at 6:30 pm and second seating at 7:30 pm - The cruise will board at 9:15pm and set sail at 9:30pm)

  • Trainee/Mentor Luncheon (Trainee Event Only)
    • Looking for insights and advice about your research, future career path, or work-life balance? Just want to talk science with an expert? Don't miss the opportunity to converse with an established or emerging leader in Reproductive Biology over a catered lunch! From a diverse group of excellent mentors, Trainees will review biosketches and select their top 3 mentor preferences. Assignments will be sent approximately four weeks prior to the meeting.

If you need to use a printed form, please click on the link below to download it and send it back to the business office at membership@ssr.org. On-site registration will be available at the meeting at the Registration Desk.

Meeting Check-in:

All attendees must check in at the Main SSR Registration desk to obtain their name badge for entry into the conference and other meeting materials.

Cancellation:

Refunds, less a $50 service fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing on or before May 8, 2020. Cancellations received after May 8th and before June 12th will be subject to a service charge of USD $150. No refund will be issued for cancellations received on or after June 12th, 2020 Registration may be transferred to another individual.


Consent to Use of Photographic/Video Images:

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, the SSR Annual Meeting and related special events constitutes an agreement by the attendee to allow the free use and distribution of the attendee’s image or voice in various media forms, including but not limited to photographs, videotapes, and electronic reproductions, in print or electronic format.
