Opportunities for Support

The Society is a 501(c)(3) corporation, and all gifts are US-tax-deductible. All donations and their tax deductibility are acknowledged by a letter from the SSR President in January of each year, and donors are listed on the SSR Supporters page online. Donations can be directed to the general endowment of SSR, to support all of the society's activities, or directed to one of the specific funds listed below:

General Endowment Fund

Donations can be directed to the general endowment of SSR to support all of the society's activities. 

Anita Payne Endowment Fund
Funds the Anita Payne New Perspectives on Reproductive Biology Lecture at the SSR Annual Meeting and SSR trainee participation in leading-edge courses or workshops.

Bruce D. Murphy Endowment Fund for SSR Trainee Members 
Provide support for the trainees' activities at the Society's Annual Meeting. 

Fuller Bazer International Scientist Fund
To recognize scientific excellence in reproductive biology of international scientists outside North America through an award presented at the Society's Annual Meeting.

Janice Bahr Endowment Fund
Provide support for earlier career independent scientists to attend SSR Annual Meeting. 

John J. Eppig Endowment Fund
Funds Annual Meeting travel for speakers in a designated module or session on female gametogenesis or follicular development. 

SSR Trainee Support Fund
Provides travel assistance to Trainee Members of the Society to attend and present their research at the Society's Annual Meeting.


Virendra B. Mahesh Neuroendocrine Program Fund
Provides funding for a symposium, plenary session, or similar event at the Annual Meeting with a focus on neuroendocrinology.

Past Presidents' Endowment Fund
Donations to this fund are designated for the SSR's Annual Meeting. 

Trainee-Mentoring Award Fund 
Supports the Trainee-Mentoring Award Fund, given to an SSR member who consistently has demonstrated support and guidance exceeding the basic responsibilities of an academic advisor.

Virendra B. Mahesh Legacy Fund

Supports maintenance and enhancement of Biology of Reproduction. 

Virendra B. Mahesh New Investigator Fund
Supports the New Investigator Award, which recognizes an active, regular member of the Society for outstanding research completed and published within 10 years after receiving the PhD or other equivalent professional degree.

William Hansel Ovarian Research Program Fund

Funds an Annual Meeting symposium with a focus on ovarian function as it relates to the broader field of reproductive biology.
